I’ve always been the one who can’t watch a scary movie.
They give me nightmares.
I’m not a fan of the dark.
Darkness and shadows scare me.
I imagine what might be lurking.
Yet, last week, I had a realization.
I also love the beauty in darkness and what is hidden in the shadows.
I was looking at photos I enjoy taking and all kinds of shadows emerged.
Shadows that complimented the light.
Shadows created by reflections.
Shadows created in the blue hour and the golden hour.
Beautiful Shadows.
My NEW Perspective
What if we found beauty in the shadows of ourselves?
Talent others don’t know we have.
Hobbies we keep to ourselves.
Dreams for the future.
Instead of hiding in the shadows we let the shadows shine.
We highlight “what you might not know about me”.
The things we are reluctant to share might just be the best, most loved part of us.
Shadows don’t have to be scary.
Shadows can be beautiful.
Your Turn
What are your shadows?
Why do you keep them hidden inside?
How could you begin to share your shadows with the world?
