Our lives are stories.

The stories cover specific events, the flow of our days, and the arcs of the years.

We have stories about our family, friends, careers, hobbies, and so much more.

What we sometimes forget is that we are the author of those stories.

We can steer the direction.

Say “yes” and “no” to events we want (or don’t want) in our story.

When we tell the stories we decide how they are told.

Framing the narrative of our life.

My Perspective

Many people struggle with the story of their life.

It’s easier to live the story someone else has created for us.

Or to follow a narrative that society expects.

It takes courage to be the author of our life.

Taking on the tough decisions to lead the life that is right for each of us.

My observation is that those who do the work to shape their story are happier.

More at peace with the way life is vs. searching for what they wish it could be.

Your Turn

Do you feel you are the author of your life?

How have others driven or shaped your storyline in positive and negative ways?

What steps could you take to live the story you want to write?
