The last quarter of the year is a great time to clear up and reset for the year ahead.

In fact, clearing before Thanksgiving (in the US) can add some calm to chaotic December.

For those inspired to clear some space, here are some ideas for each dimension of wellbeing:

Physical Wellbeing

  • Book overdue health appointments (doctor, dentist, vision, etc.).
  • Refresh your workout gear: donate shoes or clothes you don’t use.
  • Restock your kitchen with nourishing staples for easy meals.
  • Create a sleep reset by setting a consistent bedtime/wake-up routine.

Emotional Wellbeing

  • Unfollow social media accounts that drain your energy.
  • Identify one stress habit you want to leave behind (e.g., doomscrolling before bed).
  • Create a calming ritual (tea, music, stretching) for winding down at night.
  • Review your journaling practice or start a new one.

Intellectual Wellbeing

  • Unsubscribe from email newsletters you never open.
  • Clear out books you’ll never read and set aside 1–2 you’re excited about (physical & digital).
  • Do a “tab detox”: close out all the lingering open tabs on your browser and start fresh.
  • Reorganize your digital notes or bookmarks into clear categories.

Social Wellbeing

  • Delete old group chats or threads that are no longer active.
  • Review your commitments and step back from draining groups or obligations.
  • Declutter your contacts: remove outdated phone numbers, addresses, and email.
  • Clean up your social feeds by muting or unfollowing people/groups who bring negativity.

Spiritual Wellbeing

  • Revisit your personal values and ask if they are still aligned with how you’re living.
  • Create a fresh playlist of music that uplifts or grounds you.
  • Reset your morning or evening quiet time (meditation, journaling, prayer, gratitude).
  • Clear out apps, books, or spiritual items that are no longer serving you.

Occupational Wellbeing

  • Clean up your digital desktop and organize key folders.
  • Review your professional goals and consider what to keep, what to let go.
  • Refresh your LinkedIn profile or résumé with this year’s accomplishments.
  • Clear your calendar of recurring meetings that no longer add value.

Environmental Wellbeing

  • Countertop sweep: clear counters of things that don’t belong or you don’t use daily.
  • Purge your entryway of shoes, coats, bags, or mail piles that create clutter.
  • Empty one junk drawer and reorganize it with only essentials.
  • Clear your car by removing trash and unused items. Bonus: Wipe surfaces & vacuum

Financial Wellbeing

  • Cancel unused subscriptions or memberships.
  • Review your budget and identify one area to trim.
  • Set up an automated transfer to savings or investment accounts.
  • Clear out paper clutter by digitizing old bills or receipts.
