I’ve found that looking back on the year (or forward) in general ways can feel a bit flat.
What went well?
What could have gone better?
These questions work, but they can lack depth and insight.
I like considering different types of questions to provide a different perspective.
Possibly uncover an insight that would have otherwise been missed.
I had the idea to consider the 8 dimensions of wellbeing through the lens of a plant.
Your Year – Plant Lens
Go through the 8 dimensions one at a time.
Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Occupational, Intellectual, Financial, Environmental, and Social.
Here are the questions to consider:
What seeds did you plant in this area of your life?
What opportunities sprouted?
What did you do to nurture growth?
What were the harvests?
What did you need to prune?
Then, looking forward to the year ahead, ask the same questions.
You can use the chart below to fill out your responses.

Your Turn
What do you think of these questions?
Are they better for certain areas of life than for others?
How might they shift your perspective?
