Gallup research indicates that followers need four things from leaders:
Trust, Compassion, Stability, and Hope.
“When leaders meet these needs, it can lead to less suffering and better wellbeing.” – Gallup
They broke the four categories down into these dimensions:

My Perspective
I believe these four attributes are personally important in our own career and life.
We need to give ourselves hope.
Trust the decisions we make and the connections we prioritize.
Be compassionate with ourselves and others.
And create stability in our life.
There is one area of the Gallup framework that I don’t know if I agree with.
Financial growth, support, and independence are considered part of hope.
In all the work I’ve done, I’ve seen these 3 tied to stability, not hope.
Without the financial piece in our personal lives, the others can fall apart.
So, if I were to create a version for the MeEO, it would move this dimension to stability.
Your Turn
What do you think of the four needs of followers?
Do you believe the attributes apply to leading ourselves?
Would you categorize financial independence part of hope or stability?
