Welcome to the Saturday Summary.

What I’ve Posted – Blog Summary

This week is all about personal brands. There are tools and frameworks to help you consider how you show up in the world and what makes you unique.

Personal Brand Discovery. The first post of the week provides a framework for discovering the dimensions of your personal brand and articulating what you see vs. what is seen by others.

Navigating Personal Brands. A corporate brand often has a brand pyramid to center their difference. I’ve created the personal brand version. This post introduces the structure of the personal pyramid.

Personal User Manual. What if we could provide others with a “manual” that helps them understand how we approach work? This post introduces a framework for creating your manual.

Context for Our Personal Brand. Taking another cue from corporate brands, this post looks at how we can use the 5C strategy framework to understand the environment around our personal brand.

Discover Your Benefits. The final post of the week suggests we shift from considering our experience “features” and flip the script to describe the “benefits” we provide a project or company.

What I’ve Been Up To

This week, I had the opportunity to attend two events – an “I Am Remarkable” workshop sponsored by Together Digital and an International Women’s Day event sponsored by Slalom. Both were wonderful. I enjoyed the presentations and engaging with other attendees. Since I’ve been working on my own, I have fewer opportunities to be a part of events like these and I realized this is something I miss from my corporate life. I’m going to be looking for more opportunities to connect with others in a shared learning environment.

Outside of work, life maintenance was a focus – including the fun task of annual taxes. This goes into the category of something I put off every year and when I just dig in, I realize the task isn’t as challenging as it is in my mind. Why do I forget this EVERY year?!
