I’ve been thinking about how we learn.
In the process, I came across two quotes from Albert Einstein that feel relevant today.
“Commit yourself to lifelong learning. The most valuable asset you’ll ever have is your mind and what you put into it.”
– Albert Einstein
And
“I never teach my pupils; I only create the conditions where they can learn.”
– Albert Einstein
My Perspective
As technology continues to advance and evolve, so does our learning.
Books no longer need to be the core of education.
We’ve added podcasts, videos, online workshops, and more.
There are bite sized learning moments and yearlong programs.
We can pick the formats and length that best fits our personal learning style.
This raises the question – are we aware of our learning styles?
We can consider content formats – written, audio, video, or hands on.
We can consider the length – a book vs. a blog post or a TikTok video vs. a webinar.
In parallel, we can be exploring the topics we are currently curious about.
What is it we want to learn?
Consider the most recent content you consumed or a recent Google search.
Understanding our personal learning equation makes it more likely we will become lifelong learners.
Your Turn
What are your favorite learning formats?
Are there topics you are currently diving into to learn more?
Do you have a perception that one format of “learning” is more respected than others?
